Beautiful setting in “The Thatch Cottage” adjacent to Kilmovee Community Centre. Look forward to this returning when restrictions are eased.
Another first for Kilmovee Community Centre – when we couldn’t go to the movies, the Centre took the movies to us! Enjoyable evening and soon to be repeated.
LITERALLY! Watch this space!!!
A tremendous Community based effort to raise funds for Mayo-Roscommon Hospice. This event, takes place on Holy Saturday and has attracted participants from all over Ireland and beyond. The last two years have seen a “Virtual” 10K but we look forward to feeling the road and gathering the crowds again. kilmovee10k.com
Meals-on-Wheels (and heels!)
Daily meals delvered to your door.
Urlaur Abbey and Lake are among our most prized local beauty spots. Time spent there, is never time wasted.
Dating back through the centuries, Urlaur Abbey was built by the Dominican Order who continued to have a presence in our community until the 1800s. Regarded as a centre of learning, many Dominicans came to the shores of Urlaur Lake to pursue their studies and answer God’s call. The “Urlaur Pattern” takes place here on August 4th.
Kilcashel Stone Fort
The last surviving member of three stone forts in the area, it’s estimated to have been constructed between 2,500 and 500BC. (Wikipedia)
People make places
At the end of the day, it is all about people. Kilmovee Community Centre constantly seeks ways to bring people together – in song, dance, story, sport, music ….. community.
