Who Better to Open the new CoWorking Space Hub in Kilmovee Community Centre than Patrick Duffy aka Bobby Ewing of hit show Dallas who knows a thing or two about a good office environment.
Patrick Duffy and his partner Linda Purl were in Kilmovee in July to trace Patrick’s ancestors who hail from Skeheen in Kilmovee and he was only too delighted to officially open the new co working hub in where one of the private suites was named after him. In fact, Duffy got a great kick out of going into the suite and throwing his feet up on the table announcing: “I’m ready to see you now” said Sheila Hunt the manager of Kilmovee Community Centre.
The newly established Hub has been transformed to accommodate four hot desks, three private work spaces and a central breakout out board table complete with natural light and high-speed broadband.
The space is part of a recent collaboration led by the Western Development Commission and is a member of the Connected Hubs Network, Irelands first national network of remote working hubs.
The Western Development Commission in association with Roscommon, Donegal, Mayo and Sligo Local Authorities was awarded funding under the Department of Rural and Community Development Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF) as part of Project Ireland 2040, to part fund the establishment of these hubs.
“We hope that Kilmovee Co-working Space will be a resource to local businesses, workers and community groups in providing a comfortable, adaptable and professional working environment with high-speed broadband”. Sheila Hunt Manager of Kilmovee Community Centre
“Our new hub will provide a space for those who are remote working and will help to attract more people who otherwise would not be able to consider living in the community”
Kilmovee provides a very central location just off the main N5, ten minutes from Knock International Airport and centrally located between Ballaghaderreen, Charlestown and Ballyhaunis. Facilities also include free parking, shared kitchen facilities, catering, electric car charging point, recycling and office support.
